A vacation on a raft

Inspired by the famous raft “Kon-Tiki” by Thor Heyerdahl’s raft, this raft is half this size. Be believe that the water raft is indisputably unique. The raft is 8 meters in length and 3 meters in width, it offers a cabin that comfortably sleeps two people. The raft has a large deck outside with a seating area where you can eat, sunbathe and enjoy being at the water’s edge. This little house on the water offers all the amenities for a pleasant stay with us. The raft is moveable and you are able to weigh anchor elsewhere on the river. Extremely smooth waters direct your attention from your daily routine and provides you the opportunity to put your worries overboard.

Facilities of the raft

The raft will offer two beds with the possibility of furnishing with double or single bedding. If you haven’t ordered any linen when booking then you must bring under sheets, pillowcases and a duvet or sleeping bag! A chest, oil lamps, a gas stove and basic cookware, along with attractive décor complete the list of things the raft includes. If you want to enjoy the views, the quietness of the area, the sunset and the water sit outside on the deck available with oak table and chairs. A refrigerator is provided centrally on the site.

The vicinity of Easterein

You could make your journey there by walking, cycling or sailing and enjoy the surroundings. Easterein has a medieval church and Friesland’s oldest pub (with adjoining restaurant) the ‘Noflik Easterin’. Enjoy the peace and space of this cultural and historical area. You will soon become impressed by the beautiful farms in the area, picturesque meadows and countless waterways. Bicycles, canoes and pedal boats are ready to rent. You can easily use the property’s cycling paths and get around the villages on foot and on a bike.

The monumental Slachtedijk runs through meadows and along waterways, leading you to villages with terraces and by strolling through narrow streets you can learn more about the fascinating Frisian culture and history. (A Slachtedijk is a road that is higher than the land to protect those travelling on it, these used to provide protection for those living in the Netherlands as the land is below sea level and is at risk of flooding)

Terherne is the most adventurous village in the Netherlands, and where the books of Chameleon are brought to life. Franeker has the oldest working planetarium in the world. Workum has a museum with work from the artist Jopie Huisman. Sneek is the water sports capital of Friesland. Harlingen, is a real port connected to the sea. Bolsward with its beautiful town hall and canals and naturally, Leeuwarden, European capital of culture in 2018! In short, a visit to the Frisian Eleven cities is defiantly worthwhile.
