Sleeping in the woods:
in a Mongol Yurt
Description
You are in Otterlo, The Netherlands. There are 55 hectares of woods, moors and sand. Imagine:
In the evening you will arrive at this beautiful spot in Otterlo, where you can find 4 original Mongolian Ger's (Yurts). You can settle yourself with a drink around the fire place. You will sleep in one of the Yurts. Breakfast will be served in the yurt. After your breakfast you can make a cycling tour in the neighbourhood, lunch will be served on the way. After your return you can go to the sauna. Meanwhile, your hosts prepare your supper. That will be served in the old, cosy little farm.
The tents are isolated with sheep velt and has an authentic Mongol interior. They have a stove for wood and minimal lighting. There is no electricity or water in the tent. Outside you can use the barbecue. Bathrooms are at 50 meters.
'Otterlo-actief' (Otterlo-active) can take care of all sorts of events: biking, nordic walking, hiking or survivals. You can climb, take a gps hiking tour or cycling tour, archery and take a tilt-cart.
Breakfast is € 7,50. Dinner (casserole) in the yurt: € 10,-. 3 Course dinner: from € 25,-.
The Vicinity
Near Otterlo begins National Park 'De Hoge Veluwe' with 55 hectares of woods, moors and sand. In Otterlo there is a tile museum, the famous Kröller Müller museum and Museonder, an underground museum about underground things).
In the neighbourhood there are several other museums, several (art)galleries, mills, museum farms.
In the vicinity you can go horse riding, play midgetgolf or golf, there are swimming pools and you can play tennis. In Otterlo there is also a wine farm you can visit. You can take a guided tour in castle/manor St. Hubertus.
Arnhem is approx. 25 minutes by car. There you can visit 'Nederlands Openluchtmuseum', the Open Air Museum. You can step into more than 80 historic houses, farmhouses and mills. Here you can discover how ordinary Dutch people have lived over the last few hundred years: Holland in just one day. Meet friendly farmers, the wheelwright, the blacksmith, the fisherman and the miller.
The city Apeldoorn is 30 minutes by car. There you can find attractionpark 'Koningin Juliana Toren', zoo Apenheul (a big park with mainly monkeys), museum 'Paleis Het Loo' (former palace of queen Wilhelmina).
Attraction park Hellendoorn and De Efteling are approx. 70 minutes by car.
