Gast Op Stal (Guest in Stable)
Description
Silence, space and real darkness are uncommon in the Netherlands.
In beautiful Wyns, in the province Friesland, you can still find those things. Beside the characteristic authentic Dutch farm you will find a former stable for small cattle. Gast Op Stal convert their stable to an exclusive guesthouse. The stable is very comfortable for a stay overnight, although they let the stable for the most part authentic.
The lodging has a central heating, a kitchen and a sanitary unit with a shower and a toilet. The ground floor is 6 x 12 meters and has a living room, a dining room and a bedroom, not separated.
From the ground floor you can reach the big attic, where a second special-formed bedroom has made. In this lodging with a nice view over water and meadow-land there is room for 1 upto 4 persons. For children you can ask extra facilities with your booking.
Breakfast will be served when you wish.
The Vicinity
The farm is alongside the river Dokkumer Ee and situated between the villages Wyns and Bartlehiem.
Gast Op Stal with its farm is located in the middle of an open meadow-land. The surrounding field is mostly used agricultural. The cows will still be outside in the summer. The fields in the vicinity are also cultivated by biological farmers so there is a large diversity of flora and fauna.The river Dokkumer Ee swings through this meadow-land and makes a connection to the lake district of Friesland and the area of Lauwersmeer (lake). A lot of little and big ships use this route; especially in the summer it is a dynamic picture.
In the barn there are two canoes you can use to make a trip on the river. You can also take a walk to enjoy the neighbourhood or explore per bicycle. You can rent bikes at Gast Op Stal.
You can go to the church of Hogebeintum, which is situated on a terp of 8 meters high. Other touristic attractions: the Ruurd Wiersma house, the lumber mill in Birdaard and the tiles-bridge over the river Murk. Some bigger cities like Dokkum and Leeuwarden are also in the vicinity. In Wyns there is a beanery, situated at the river. In the summertime you can take a ferry to the westside of the river Dokkumer Ee.
If you bring your horse or pony, you can use the stables of Gast Op Stal (2 boxes).
Prices
The price for an overnight stay in this nice lodging is € 70,- per night, inclusive breakfast, for 2 persons. For more then 2 persons there will be an extra charge of € 15,- per person.
